Fragment

This is a Fragment. It is dated early 18th century and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is cotton and its technique is embroidery stitches include satin, running, knot, overcasting, couching on plain weave foundation; quilting stuffed from the back (trapunto); in several areas stitches are combined in deflected element work. It is a part of the Textiles department.
