Panel (France)

This is a Panel. It is dated 1750–1800 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is silk, metal wire, flat metal strips, metal shapes, metal-wrapped silk and its technique is plain weave with supplementary warps and continuous and discontinuous supplementary wefts; appliqué of spangles and metal threads; bobbin-made lace at all four edges. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Mrs. Lammot du Pont Copeland. It is credited Gift of Mrs. Lammot du Pont Copeland.
