Pleated Fan (France)

This is a Pleated fan. It is dated 1860–70 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is printed, hand-colored and gilded paper leaf, carved and incised mother of pearl sticks, gilt metal bail, mother-of-pearl washer at rivet, silk tassel with gilded beads. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Sheila Bruce. It is credited Gift of Sheila Bruce.
