Pleated Fan

This is a Pleated fan. It is dated 1900–30 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is printed and hand-colored paper leaf embroidered with metal spangles, carved, pierced and gilded bone sticks inlaid with steel piqués, gilt metal bail, mother-of-pearl washer at rivet, silk and metallic tassel. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Sheila Bruce. It is credited Gift of Sheila Bruce.
