Pleated Fan

This is a Pleated fan. It is dated 1900–30 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is silk net leaf with applied silk panels and spangles, carved and gilded tortoise shell sticks inlaid with steel piqués, gilt metal bail, faceted stone at rivet, silk tassel. It is a part of the Textiles department.
