This is a pitcher. It was made by Ernest Chaplet. It is dated 1882–85 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is stoneware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Museum purchase from Decorative Arts Association Acquisition Fund.

Its dimensions are

H x W: 21.5 x 18.5 cm (8 7/16 x 7 5/16 in.)

It has the following markings

On base, impressed stamp: "H&Co" in a linked circle with a cross at the bottom; "38"; incised: "KB 2 P"; "E. C."; in black marking pen: "U lm / m bi [?]"
