A square drawing of a bench and a garden trellis created with brown ink and a brown wash. The drawing is bound by a square. The scene is drawn with linear perspective creating the illusion of three dimensions. Faint pencil lines can be seen under the ink. Filling the center of the frame is a low, wide, white bench angled to the right. It is set back into a recess in the wall. A trellis covers the wall behind and on either side of the bench. The trellis is comprised of a series of perpendicular lines creating a pattern of rectangles. The trellis is about twice the height of the back of the bench. A walkway the same width of the bench extends forward and out of the scene. Thin trees filled with flower buds and leaves flank both sides of the bench.
