Lotus Vase

This is a vase. It was designed by George Sakier. It is dated 1930 and we acquired it in 1993. Its medium is molded glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Gift of Daniel Morris and Denis Gallion.

A truncated ovoid-shaped, mold-blown transparent blue glass vase. In the center of the vase are two sets of three-dimensional curved reliefs. The top of the vase appears as a rounded-rectangular opening, with thicker glass at the sides that appears bluish in tone. The base of the vase is more oval in shape, with the tapered sides forming rippled sections where the curved relief sections begin.
