Phorm Ergonomic Hand-Held Calculator

This is a calculator. It is dated 1986 and we acquired it in 1996. Its medium is molded plastic, electronic components. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Zelco produced this calculator in two different models: one for right-handed users and the other for left-handed users. As the calculator’s title suggests, the device was designed to maximize efficiency and comfort for the user. The brightly colored keys, coded by function, allow for ease and accuracy when entering calculations.

This object was donated by Steelcase. It is credited Gift of Arango Design Foundation.

A measuring spoon set with four black spoons of different sizes, each with a circular colored label indicating its measurement, red for a quarter teaspoon, dark blue for a half teaspoon, green for one teaspoon and yellow for one tablespoon. The measurements are printed on each spoon in white inside the corresponding colored circle, and all the spoons are held together on a black plastic ring.
