This is a vase. It was designed by Bert (Lambertus) Nienhuis and manufactured by de Distel Pottery, Amsterdam. It is dated ca. 1905 and we acquired it in 1994. Its medium is earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

On underside of vase: [1] "AMSTERWERK HOLLAND" in a circle around "DISTEL" with abstract crown above and "XXX" below, stamped in black, overglazed (factory mark). [2] "477", written in black (probably inventory number). [3] "T", written in black (probably painter's mark).
