An ovoid, clear glass decanter with a long, cylindrical neck. An oval shaped stopper, with a twig-like point at the top, has been placed in the top of the neck. Two transparent butterflies have been engraved onto the sides of the decanter. One small butterfly is found in the center, just under the neck, the engraving detailing light stipes across the wings with darker patterning alond the top and at the edges. Another, larger butterfly is found on the bottom right, with similar light stripes across its wings, and darker elements at the edges of the wings and where the body of the butterfly meets the wings.

This is a Decanter with stopper. It was manufactured by Boehmische Manufaktur. It is dated 2007 and we acquired it in 2009. Its medium is mouth-blown engraved glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Throughout most of its history, the glass firm Lobmeyr has engaged outside designers who work in other media, including artists from the Wiener Werkstätte such as Josef Hoffmann and Oswald Haerdtl. From 2007, Lobmeyr collaborated with Ted Muehling, a New York–based designer of jewelry and decorative objects.

It is credited Museum purchase through gift of Dale and Doug Anderson, Anonymous Donor, Arthur Liu, and Prairie Pictures, Inc. and from General Acquisitions Endowment Fund.
