Good Grips Peeler In Packaging

This is a Peeler in packaging. It was designed by Davin Stowell and Daniel Formosa and design team member: Tucker Viemeister and manufactured by OXO International and firm: Smart Design, Inc.. It is dated 2011 and we acquired it in 2011. Its medium is molded thermoplastic rubber (santoprene), polypropylene, stainless steel; paper, plastic (packaging). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Sam Farber founded OXO to create kitchen tools for people of diverse ages and abilities. His wife, Betsey, suffers from arthritis, and it was painful for her to peel vegetables. OXO partnered with Smart Design to create the Good Grips brand. The designers explored dozens of prototypes, including a rubber bicycle handle. Improving access for disabled users can improve the experience for those of ordinary ability.

This object was donated by Smart Design, Inc.. It is credited Gift of Smart Design, Inc..
