Textile (England)

This is a Textile. It is dated 1740s and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk and its technique is predominantly warp-faced plain weave patterned by discontinuous supplementary wefts (brocading) bound on the front in 1/2 twill. It is a part of the Textiles department.

It is credited Museum purchase from General Acquisitions Endowment Fund.
