Plaque (USA)

This is a Plaque. It was manufactured by Rookwood Pottery and decorated by Lorinda Epply. It is dated 1916 and we acquired it in 1983. Its medium is glazed stoneware, wood frame. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Marcia Goodman and William Goodman. It is credited Gift of Marcia and William Goodman.

It has the following markings

Impressed on back: RP cipher with 14 flames, XVI beneath, also V. (designates vellum glaze) Incised on left edge: 36 / XVI, and artist's monogram. Artist's monogram incised on right edge, bottom. Artist's monogram signed on front, lower right, underglaze.
