Drawing, Study 141e

This is a Drawing. It was designed by John De Cesare. It is dated October 28, 1957 and we acquired it in 1982. Its medium is color pencil, graphite on cream wove paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

This is a study for a rug or mosaic decoration with design motifs drawn from the entire eight measures of "Taps." The bugle call is shown in the center with the singing chorus harmony in the border. The background of stars connects the lyrics ("and a star gems the sky") with the design.
