Kaveri Champagne Glass

This is a Champagne glass. It was manufactured by Iittala Glassworks. It is dated 20th century and we acquired it in 1985. Its medium is glass, molded plastic. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Designed for Finnish glass house Iittala, who subscribes to the Modernist creed that design should have quality, be beautiful, timeless, multi-functional and accessible to everyone, Jorma Vennola’s sturdy champagne glass is composed of two components. The plastic base is customizable, available in several colors that allow the user to choose their preferred shade. The glass section fits inside the base, allowing for even more choice as different sizes, from goblet to cordial glass, can be inserted, depending on the beverage. The mix of materials shows a sense of experimentation similar to that of the wooden toys Vennola is known for.
