Trade Catalog, Kronleuchter und andere Beleuchtungskörper für electrisches Licht (Chandeliers and Other Lighting Fixtures for Electric Light)

This is a Trade catalog.

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Smithsonian Libraries and Archives as part of Saturated: The Allure and Science of Color.

It is dated ca. 1900. Its medium is metal samples on board.

Decorative effects on metals are mostly achieved with chemical patination, plating, and coating to produce a wide variety of colors. This lighting trade catalog presents metal samples in a variety of finishes available in the early 20th century. Original finishes are often lost over time due to exposure and general wear.

It is credited Smithsonian Libraries, TK4198.K76.
