Sidewall, Lines Forest

This is a sidewall. It was designed by Geoff McFetridge. It is dated 2001 and we acquired it in 2017. Its medium is screen printed on paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

"Lines Forest" is in sharp contrast to "Shadows of the Paranormal" with its more rigid and stark format. Design elements are kept very minimal with the forest motifs reduced to a series of lines and geometric shapes. Heavy vertical lines suggest tree trunks while the foliage is rendered as either triangular or circular shapes. The seemingly random placement of slanted and horizontal elements suggest the organic nature of the forest while also making the design more cohesive and less directional. The high contrast of the black on white design increases the graphic quality and abstract nature of the design.

This object was donated by Geoff McFetridge. It is credited Gift of Geoff McFetridge.

Its dimensions are

L x W: 457.2 × 76.2 cm (15 ft. × 30 in.)
