El Producto Cigar Album Box

This is a Cigar Album Box. It was designed by Paul Rand and manufactured by G.H.P. Cigar Company. It is dated ca. 1952 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is color-printed paper glued to cedar. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Johanna Lo and Dennis Lo. It is credited Gift of Dennis and Johanna Lo.

Poster with angled design and geometric composition. At the top, it reads “Bauhaus” and at the center, has an image of the school shown in black and white. The building is blocky and has the word “Bauhaus” written in stacked text down the left side. Geometric, horizontal windows are shown. A narrow, tall, red rectangle is behind the school, and another is next to the name. Red and black text in German frames the image.
