Two Vases, Lotus

This is a Two Vases. It was manufactured by Fostoria Glass Company. Its medium is mold-blown transparent glasses.

Fostoria turned to artist and designer George Sakier to update its product lines with a modern aesthetic. Conceived for mass production, Sakier's vases evoke a stylized classicism through vertical fluting. The designs terminate in flat, perpendicular rims that evoke and industrial aesthetic.

A three piece hand-wrought pewter coffee set. On the left is a double handled sugar bowl. The back middle showcases a tall standing pot with wedged lipped spout. On the right is on a squat cream server. All three are lidded with a shiny exterior and the interiors of the handles set in black. They are photographed against a cascading black to white background.

Model 2404 Vase

A truncated ovoid-shaped, mold-blown transparent blue glass vase. In the center of the vase are two sets of three-dimensional curved reliefs. The top of the vase appears as a rounded-rectangular opening, with thicker glass at the sides that appears bluish in tone. The base of the vase is more oval in shape, with the tapered sides forming rippled sections where the curved relief sections begin.
