Hair Dryers, HLD 4 No. 4416, 1970

This is a Hair Dryers. It was designed by Dieter Rams and manufactured by Braun AG. It is dated 1970 and we acquired it in 2017. Its medium is molded plastic, electronic components. It is a part of the department.

The HLD 4 No. 4416 is Dieter Rams’s only design for a hair dryer. The object’s front face of a bisected slotted grill recalls Rams’s earlier designs for audio equipment. A rare example of bold color use in Braun’s product line, these hair dryers were marketed toward men as ideal travel accessories due to their compact shape.
