Postcard, Hôtel du Rhin

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Smithsonian Libraries and Archives as part of Sarah & Eleanor Hewitt: Designing a Modern Museum.

It is dated ca. 1900. Its medium is ink on paper. It is a part of the department.

The Cooper Union Museum’s postcard collection (now held by Smithsonian Libraries and Archives) was amassed by museum staff and volunteers from 1897 to 1990 and ultimately grew to approximately 10,000 cards. This postcard shows the historic Hôtel du Rhin on the Place Vendôme in Paris where the sisters usually stayed.

It is credited Smithsonian Libraries and Archives, NC1872 .C66.
