Installation, Body Scan
This is a Installation. It was made for (as the client) Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. It is dated 2014. Its medium is motion sensors, screen tower, software.
People experience design in relation to the scale and motion of their own bodies. The things and spaces we use are extensions of our proportions, perceptions, abilities, and limitations. Designed by Local Projects, this interactive experience invites visitors to see their own bodies in relation to images sampled from Cooper Hewitt’s historic collection. Since the Renaissance, designers have conceived of cities, buildings, and even letterforms in relation to idealized human proportions.
