This is a book illustration. It was designed by Maurice Dufrêne. It is dated 1926. Its medium is offset lithograph. It is a part of the Smithsonian Libraries department.

This office interior, designed by Maurice Dufrêne, is from a portfolio of interior design illustrations by French designers that was compiled by Léon Deshairs—an author, art historian, and great proponent of the art deco style. The images were part of the Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes in 1925, for which Dufrêne also designed the La Maîtrise pavilion as well as the salons and boutiques that were part of the Paris Art Deco Exposition scene. Dufrêne is best-known for his refined furniture designs and complete interiors, as shown in this modern office design.
