Model 114 Desk Lamp Lamp
This is a lamp. It was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague and Frank Del Giudice and manufactured by Polaroid Corporation. It is dated 1939 and we acquired it in 2015. Its medium is aluminum, bakelite (tm), metal, lamp cord. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
This lamp, sometimes called the Polaroid, displays the manufacturer’s burgeoning interest in modern industrial design and materials. This is Teague and Del Guidice’s redesign of an earlier lamp by the company, widening the area of illumination by using a molded plastic hood atop an inverted aluminum cone.
