Timeline, from Designing for the Sixth Extinction

This is a Timeline. It was designed by Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg. It is dated 2014. Its medium is vinyl digital print.

This timeline presents a long view of the ecological context for Ginsberg’s project about designing for the “sixth extinction,” a period (currently underway) in which biodiversity is rapidly diminishing because of human-triggered changes in the global ecosystem. Ginsberg envisions a future in which humans use technology to create new, hybrid forms of life as well as restoring and protecting natural species.

It is credited Courtesy of Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg.
