Triple Anatomik Ring, from Fall / Winter 2015 collection

This is a Triple Anatomik ring. It was designed by Delfina Delettrez.

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Delfina Delettrez as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.

It is dated 2015. Its medium is gold, white diamonds, blue sapphires, black diamonds, cognac diamonds, rubies.

This ring uses diamonds and rubies as well as gold and silver to depict an eye, nose and lips. The ring itself sits concealed under the nose, allowing the facial elements to float surreally above the wearer’s hand. The shapes are bordered in gold and silver and filled with the precious stones to create a piece of jewelry that is both elegant and illusory. Delettrez is a fourth-generation member of the Fendi family, whose works are inspired by surrealism.

It is credited Courtesy of Delfina Delettrez.
