Mouth And Pearl Earring, from Infinity Spring / Summer 2013 collection
This is a Mouth and Pearl earring. It was designed by Delfina Delettrez.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Delfina Delettrez as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.
This single earring employs iconic shapes of facial features to create jewelry that is both unexpected and sophisticated. A graceful gold curve with a pearl end has been lined with diamonds, and supports a pair of lips filled with rubies. The lips appear to be both anchored and suspended from the wearer’s ear. Delettrez is a fourth-generation member of the Fendi family.
It is credited Courtesy of Delfina Delettrez.
