Ensemble, from Fall / Winter 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection

This is a Ensemble. It was designed by Gareth Pugh.

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Gareth Pugh as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.

It is dated 2014. Its medium is plastic drinking straws, patent leather, stretch leather, felted wool.

Pugh incorporates unconventional materials into his structured silhouettes in this ensemble from his 2015 Fall / Winter collection. Plastic drinking straws mingle with silk chiffon, patent and stretch leather, and felted wool. The drinking straws provide an unexpected contrast in texture and movement to the materials commonly seen on the runway.

It is credited Courtesy of Gareth Pugh.
