Model IN-50 Coffee Table Coffee Table

This is a coffee table. It was designed by Isamu Noguchi and manufactured by Herman Miller Furniture Company. It is dated 1944. Its medium is glass, birch. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Looking to nature for its sculptural form, Noguchi's furniture designs reflect his longstanding interest in garden and landscape design. As he was both a designer and sculptor, his abstract naturalistic forms obscure the boundary between art and design.

This object was donated by George R. Kravis II. It is credited Gift of George R. Kravis II.
