Print, The Mind in the Hand
This is a Print. It was designed by Esther Knobel. It is dated 2006 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is etching from embossed aluminum plate on white wove paper, perforated and stitched with iron thread. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
Knobel’s 2006 etching, The Mind in the Hand, relates to a series of jewelry pieces and a 2007 book of the same name. The figures in the etching appear to be ensconced in some kind of a process, and Knobel’s book is centered on the role of craftsmanship.
