Sidewall - Samples, European Wallpapers: Modern Designs

This is a Sidewall - samples. It was designed by Tommi Parzinger and distributed by Katzenbach and Warren, Inc.. It is dated ca. 1928 and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is machine printed on paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

Designed by Parzinger while still in his native Germany, the stylized foliage motifs are softened by using various shades of two different colors, blue and mauve, printed on a lighter blue ground. His use of lines and dots to create texture and shadows echoes a similar approach found on his furniture, where he employs tufting and bosses, as well as brass detailing and strong grain patterns to add visual interest.

It is credited Gift of Lois and William Katzenbach.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D: 27.3 × 21.4 cm (10 3/4 × 8 7/16 in.)
