Patricia Kinsella is an expert weaver, freelance textile designer, artist and educator. She received her MFA in fiber at the Cranbrook Academy of Arts in Michigan in 1981. Since 1987, Kinsella has been teaching in at Syracuse University-Florence. Her lessons include the principles of textiles, quality control, and modern Italian fashion and culture. In 2010 Kinsella opened a studio called “The Weaving Factory” in the historic weaving atelier of Tessilarte, a hand-weaving factory in Florence specializing in fabric for women’s wear which dates back to the 1920s.
