Oswald Haerdtl
Oswald Haerdtl was an Austrian designer and architect based in Austria and Poland. Closely associated with Josef Hoffmann, he set up the pavilions for Austria for the World Exhibitions in Brussels and Paris (1935 and 1937, respectively). After the annexation of Austria into Germany in 1938, his association with Jewish people prevented him from returning to the university. After the Second World War he rejoined the Werkbund and organized an exhibition for the area, focusing on international issues.
