Madame Vallayer Coster, was received as academician in 1770, as a flower painter. She worked at the same time for the manufactory of Sevres and the Gobelins. For the first, she painted vases of flowers and fruits. For the second, she designed models for armchairs and sofas, bouquets of flowers and fruits of which a few pieces remain at the manufactory."
