Elizabeth Dow is best known for her textiles and hand-painted wall coverings. She studied to be a painter and worked as a studio artist for years. She was an artist-in-residence at Saks Fifth Avenue for five years where she was commissioned to create works of art for their permanent collection. Dow then began a career in restoring historical ceiling and wall paintings within Museum Houses around the U.S. She has taught at Pratt Institute and The Parson’s School, and is currently the director for the Applied Art School in Amagansett, NY.
