Helen Shirk
Metalsmith/jeweler designer. Helen Shirk is known for her large colorful copper vessels. She earned a BFA in jewelry from Skidmore College where she studied under Earl Pardon. Shirk traveled to Copenhagen, Denmark where she learned metalwork while on a Fulbright Grant. She then earned an MFA in metalsmithing from Indiana University, where she also became a professor. Later she taught at San Diego State University. Shirk was also a recipient of two National Endowment of the Arts fellowships. She has exhibited widely
