Emmanuel Coulange-Lautrec

Emmanuel de Coulange, or Coulange-Lautrec, was born in Nîmes, France. He took courses in architecture and decoration in Marseille and returned there in 1877 as a professor of industrial and decorative arts at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1856 and also worked as an illustrator of deluxe publications for a firm in Saint-Germain-des-Près. Coulange-Lautrec completed several designs for mural paintings in churches, mansions, and châteaux in the south of France as well as in the Grand Salon of the Marseille Stock Exchange.
