Born in 1940, Marcia Goodman was a classical pianist, a piano restorer, an actress, a partner in the Portnoy Goodman Jordan Volpe Gallery, a screenwriter, and a filmmaker. Along with her husband William, she was an avid collector of American Art Pottery. She and her husband William purchased their first piece of pottery in 1968 at an auction in upstate New York. The Samuel Weller ceramic pedastal was the beginning of their diverse collection, which contained a number of Rookwood and Tiffany pieces. She moved from New York, her longtime home, to San Diego in 1993. She died in 2004, survived by her children Emily Evans, Amy Goodman Kiefer, and Michael Goodman. A
