Rudolph Krolopp was Motorola’s design director when the DynaTAC 8000x was developed and created. Krolopp, who earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, joined Motorola in 1956 and retired in 1997 after 42 years with the company. He holds 31 patents.
