Founded in 1886 by three brothers James Wood Johnson, Edward Mead Johnson, and Robert Wood Johnson, their namesake company's first product was a line of ready-to-use surgical dressings. Today the company is split into a family of three companies -- Consumer Healthcare, Medical Devices, and Pharmaceuticals - and has over 250 subsidiaries.
