Verso: Inscribed in graphite, at top: Dark purple edged with gold and red at the bottom each...?... / The sky a beautiful green The lowest - towards the south snuff color. / The most beautiful sunset that / ever was seen Nov. 1844.; again numbered, at various locations indicating: "1 Thus / 2 much broken thus / 3 thus (red); and again, along bottom: blue, brandy color, green, yellow.
