Worsham-Rockefeller House Wall Tiles

This is a Wall tiles. It is dated ca. 1880 and we acquired it in 1937. Its medium is glazed earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by John Davison Rockefeller Jr.. It is credited Gift of John Davison Rockefeller, Jr..

Vanity case of rectangular shape with rounded ends with flowers and foliage in gold on a cream enamel background. A blue tulip-like central floral motif is decorated with red and green accents, along with red floral highlights on either side and within the decorative foliage. The sides feature black enamel with a continuous gold vine pattern and diamond ovals on the left and right edges, outlined in gold.

Vanity case. In the center sit two male-presenting figures on a blanket. Around them are four other male-presenting figures, and one female. In the top-left of the case is a tree with red pedals. At the top-right of the case appears to be the outside corner of a house.
