Map Sampler (England)

This is a Map sampler. It is dated 1790s and we acquired it in 1975. Its medium is silk and metallic embroidery, silk foundation and its technique is embroidered in stem, running, speckling and chain stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
