Hanging, Florence

This is a Hanging. It was designed by Lydia Bush-Brown and made by Lydia Bush-Brown. It is dated 1919–26 and we acquired it in 1977. Its medium is silk and its technique is wax resist and dyed (batik) on plain weave; lined with damasse (plain weave plus 1/3 twill). It is a part of the Textiles department.
