An exquisite vanity case with a complex design of geometric patterns and a centrally located opalescent and iridescent landscape mosaic created from shell. The rectangular case is fabricated in a horizontal orientation with a three step design revealing rounded corners on the left and right sides with a gold base and a straight blue enamel line on the two lower steps. The face is composed of a background of four separate step designs repeated on each quadrant made of gold, blue and a lighter blue enamel with a border design of gold with a blue step design on the right and left sides. Black enamel surrounds the negative space of all geometric forms on the face. In the center exists a calm rectangular landscape constructed of a sky, clouds, mountains and land carved from mother-of-pearl shell displaying lighter hues and a tree on the left and a mountain on the bottom left carved from iridescent abalone displaying luscious blues and greens. The diamond border encases the landscape with two pink red square cut rubies centered on the top and bottom with a step design fabricated of diamonds surrounding the top of the top rubies and bottom of the bottom rubies.The photograph captures the vanity case revealing the bottom and face on an angle with a cast shadow reflecting the bottom on a white ground.

A flat vanity case in deep red enamel with an inland landscape and diamond accents. The landscape is centered on the top surface of the case, composed of hardstone and tinted mother-of-pearl in shades of white, rosy brown, light grey, and blue-green. In the foreground at left is a small compound of brown buildings with peaked, white snowy roofs; a carved red-brown figure sits on the open porch. The eaves and fence railings are in bright gold; the snow-capped surrounding shrubberies are in iridescent blue-green. Behind the buildings are low grey hills; at right, further back, cliffs or steep grey hills rise up. In the background is a puffy-clouded iridescent grey and pink sky. The panel is outlined in stylized black enamel lines that overlap at the corners. Angular designs in light purple, red, and black enamel trimmed with lines of round diamonds bracket the scene. The case is rounded out on each side to fit these designs. The top and bottom sides of the case are straight, with rounded corners. Centered on the front side is a straight diamond clasp.

The top of this black compact shows the scene of a diamond panther with onyx spots. He stands between two trees whose trunks are made of baguettes and whose foliage is of carved emerald. The panther stands on five diamond baguettes with a clasp which is topped by a single diamond baguette. There are two thin gold strips that surround the top and bottom of the compact.
