Pleated Fan (France)

This is a Pleated fan. It is dated 1760–80 and we acquired it in 1955. Its medium is glazed paper leaf painted with gouache, carved, incised, pierced and painted ivory sticks, glass stone at the rivet. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Cole Porter.
