Drawing, Designs for Drinking Vessels, Covered Dishes, and Candle Holders

This is a Drawing. It was manufactured by J. & L. Lobmeyr. It is dated ca. 1926 and we acquired it in 1958. Its medium is graphite on tracing paper, lined. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

This drawing of eight vessels is carefully composed to illustrate that the pieces are intended as a set and to provide comparative scale. Ranging from water glasses to finger bowls and candlesticks, the striking and softly angular glass set would have been a focal point on a dinner table. This drawing may have been produced in conjunction with a custom order placed by Miss Agnes Miles Carpenter.

It is credited Gift of Frederick G. Weisser.
