Sidewall, Monte Carlo

This is a sidewall. It was designed by Mildred C. McNutt. It is dated 1951 and we acquired it in 1965. Its medium is screen printed on paper. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.

This design of roulette wheel, flowing champagne, blackjack, and dice brings the thrill of Monte Carlo into your home. The background pattern of champagne corks and muselets or wirehoods make the various gambling motifs more cohesive. The coloring of the motifs and different angles of the corks suggest motion and add to the design’s energy.

This object was donated by Mildred C. McNutt. It is credited Gift of Mildred C. McNutt.

Its dimensions are

102 x 77 cm (40 3/16 x 30 5/16 in.)
