Brush made of flat polished silver.The design of the dragon, which takes up most of the brush's front area, is achieved by using two common techniques for enhancing metal: repousse, wherein the design is hammered from the rear, thereby allowing it to raise above the surface of the silver; and chasing, wherein the artist hammers on the front to provide additional nuance to the piece. There is an oval plaque in the middle of the front. The rear of the brush is where the bristles are.
